If you only plan on playing with one disc make it a midrange driver. The midrange will best fill the position of multi-purpose disc. Midrange discs fly significantly faster than putters and approach discs. The edge of a midrange disc is sharper than putt and approach discs also. A midrange disc is likely to produce most of your birdies. Midrange discs are the most valuable control drivers off the tee. It is virtually impossible to play disc golf at any kind of respectable level without midrange drivers in your bag.
What You Need
If you are limited in the number of midrange discs you can carry you are going to need somehting versatile that will turn both left and right and go straight. In this case you will need a midrange with medium stability. At a minimum, we recommend a stable midrange, a medium stable midrange and a turnover midrange. Ideally, to cover all the bases, keep at last 5 midrange drivers. An overstable to fight the wind, a stable for reliable straight to hyzer shots, a medium for dead straight shots, a beat one for straight to turnover shots and a super beat for hard turns and rollers.
